These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MyLedgerBook (the "Service"), provided by MyLedgerBook Ireland ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What MyLedgerBook is
MyLedgerBook is online software that helps small Irish businesses and sole traders create invoices, record expenses, keep their books, and prepare figures for Irish tax returns (such as VAT3, RTD, VIES and income-tax/corporation-tax figures).
2. Not tax, accounting or legal advice
This is important. MyLedgerBook is a tool that helps you organise your records and prepare figures. It does not provide tax, accounting, financial or legal advice, and using it does not create an accountant–client or advisory relationship.
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter and for the returns and filings you submit to Revenue or any other authority. The figures the Service produces are based on the data you provide and your settings. We strongly recommend you review your returns, and consult a qualified accountant or tax adviser where appropriate, before filing. We are not responsible for any liability, penalty, interest or loss arising from your reliance on the Service or from errors or omissions in the data you enter.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate registration details and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18 and authorised to act for the business you add.
- Keep your two-factor authentication and recovery codes safe; we may be unable to restore access if you lose them.
4. Early access
The Service is currently offered on an early-access basis. During this period it is provided free of charge, features may change, and while we work hard to keep it reliable, it is provided "as is" without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. We will give reasonable notice before introducing paid plans, and you will never be charged without your agreement.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service — including not attempting to access other users' data, disrupt or probe the Service's security, use it for unlawful purposes, or upload malicious content.
6. Your data
You own the data you enter. You can export your ledger from within the Service at any time. We handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your own copies/backups of important records; while we keep our own backups, we recommend you also export yours periodically.
7. Availability, warranties and liability
We aim to keep the Service available and accurate but do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. We will retain financial records for the period required by law even after an account is closed (see the Privacy Policy).
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts will have jurisdiction over any dispute.
